The YEG Women's Project was born in 2016 when Dr. Botsford, ND and Renee Giroux-Wyton, Holistic Nutrition Expert, were seeing a common theme in their practice. So many women are working extremely hard day and night to care for their families and often they don't have time to care for themselves. Dr. Botsford and Renee quickly brought Rosalyn Fung, Christy Amason-Elsner (EmpowerFit), Laurie Plouffe (Propel Physio) and Casey MacDonald (Cedar Tree Holistic Health Services) on board as vibrant ambassadors of empowerment and experts in their health and wellness fields. The YEG Women's Project is designed to provide Edmonton's women with a day to connect with each other and to learn simple strategic ways to prioritize their health and well-being.
The 2017 inaugural event takes place on Saturday, May 13th from 10:00am to 5pm at the Alfred H. Savage Centre located in Edmonton's beautiful river valley. Women will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers on topics such as natural hormone health, pelvic floor and core strength, holistic psychology and nutrition. Lunch is included in the price of admission and proceeds from the event go to support WIN House, Edmonton's Women's Shelter.
